Viewing/Editing the Multi-Clipboard contents

From the context menu of the Multi Clipboard view (see 'Using the Multi-Clipboard'), you can bring up a dialog displaying the contents of an entry to the Multi Clipboard.

By default, this dialog is read-only and looks as follows:

The dialog is not modal to the workbench, so you can open more details and keep them open while using the workbench. The 'Close'-button closes the dialog.

If you want to be able to edit the contents of the Multi Clipboard after they have been added, you can change the plug-in preferences to allow this (see 'Preferences for the Multi-Clipboard'). If editing is enabled, the dialog contents are editable and the appearance of the dialog changes:

The buttons are enabled/disabled as needed and have the following functionality:

• 'Save' (only enabled if contents have been edited compared to the current contents of the Multi Clipboard) - Updates the content of the Multi Clipboard entry with the dialog-content. Note that the content-label as displayed in the Multi Clipboard view updates accordingly. The dialog remains open.
• 'Restore' (only enabled if contents have been edited compared to the current contents of the Multi Clipboard) - Restores the contents of the dialog to be the content of the Multi Clipboard entry.
• 'Save and close' (only enabled if contents have been edited compared to the current contents of the Multi Clipboard) - Updates the content of the Multi Clipboard entry with the dialog-content and closes the dialog. Note that the content-label as displayed in the Multi Clipboard view updates accordingly.
• 'Close without saving' - Closes the dialog, discarding possible edits that have not been saved.
